Meet Dr. Stacie Wells, ND, FAAEM

Practicing true preventative medicine involves more than a yearly physical ~Dr. Stacie Wells

Dr. Wells comes to us from Marysville, Washington, where she has specialized in integrative primary care with a focus on environmental medicine for over 15 years. She graduated from Bastyr University in 2005 and was a classmate of our very own Dr. Frisch! Her expertise in the impact of the environment on health is a perfect addition to Whole Health Naturopathy and all we offer.

After graduation, Dr. Wells went on to earn a fellowship with the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. She has been an active member of many professional environmental and naturopathic associations at the state and national levels. Her work as a radio talk show host and columnist have helped affect change in her local community.

When working with her patients, Dr. Wells states, “I look from a broader view to consider a patient’s risk for chronic illness, provide a personalized disease treatment and prevention.” She explains that chronic illnesses are “multifactorial and preventable.” Many things in the environment are known to contribute to disease, such as heavy metals, water and air pollution, and mold and chemical exposures. “I also look at the internal environment of a patient to examine the whole health of the body, taking into account an individual’s biochemistry, nutritional status, detoxification and repair processes, and factors that cause inflammation.” Then she considers their mental health, sleep habits, and stress management.

Dr. Wells emphasizes, “Practicing true preventative medicine involves more than a yearly physical.”

After spending the day caring for her patients, Dr. Wells enjoys spending time gardening, hiking, cooking, writing, making herbal medicines, and “trying to get into nature as often as possible.” She and her husband have one child, one dog, and one cat. Olympia is now their home, and she looks forward to what the future holds.
