Meet Dr. Marnie Frisch, ND

We want to introduce (or reintroduce) to you the physicians of Whole Health Naturopathy, starting with its founder, Dr. Marnie Frisch. So, without further ado, here is the first article in our Meet the Doctors series!

I believe in treating the WHOLE person, not just their symptoms or disease. ~ Dr. Marnie Frisch

If you’ve ever met Dr. Frisch, you know the heart and soul of Whole Health Naturopathy. This Olympia clinic was born out of her passion for the art of naturopathy, family medicine, and primary care. She explains, “I believe in treating the WHOLE person, not just their symptoms or disease.” Having graduated from Bastyr University in 2006, she feels honored to have been taught and mentored by some of the school’s founding fathers and elders. She believes in the “foundation of naturopathic medicine and what it was built on.” She has dedicated her life to learning and helping patients with the healing power of nature.

Dr. Frisch comes from a family of doctors. Her dad and sister are practicing OB/GYNs. She is “comfortable walking in both worlds of medicine, naturopathic and allopathic (or so-called modern medicine) and collaborating with MDs.” She also has a long history of filling roles of care and service, from nanny to ultrasound technician to organic bakery owner. With her years of clinical work before graduating from naturopathic medical school, she felt capable of starting a practice and running it her way. It would be a place for her to integrate the art of homeopathic medicine with that same caring and serving heart.

Dr. Frisch is friendly and has a welcoming way about her as she talks with her patients. She spends time getting to know them and their situation, connecting the dots in their stories, which leads to personalized treatments. Patients say they feel listened to and valued. One of her patients explains, “Dr. Marnie is fully in your appointment, not making you feel like she is in a rush to get to the next appointment. She doesn’t shy away from doing extra digging to find the answers to vague symptoms that other doctors have written off.”

She believes in naturopathic medicine as the perfect model for primary care. She enjoys helping patients transition through the stages of life, such as adolescence and menopause or andropause. She partners with patients with autoimmune diseases as they search for a healthy balance. Specializing in constitutional homeopathy she has excellent insight into gut health and issues like irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue, vascular disorders, depression and anxiety, and hormone imbalances.

However, her first love is pediatrics and family practice. She enjoys supporting the whole family. Over the past 15 years, she has had the joy of seeing babies grow into teens.

Besides her love of patient care and all things natural, Dr. Frisch enjoys cooking and has even taught a whole-foods cooking class. Before becoming a doctor, she owned and operated an organic whole grains bakery in Seattle. Periodically, she will be sharing some of her favorite healthy recipes right here!
